Mastering RCM Facilitation Skills

Very few people can read a book and become a RCM Facilitator. I have met several who have tried, none who have actually pulled it off. I'm not saying it's impossible, there may in fact be a few bright and talented people who have the knack for leading groups and the discipline to pull it off.

At Reliability Solutions, Inc. our RCM Facilitator Training course combines lecture and classroom examples with a live facilitator mentoring process to ensure your facilitators master the skills to become certified RCM Blitz Facilitators. If you have ever wondered why Reliability Solutions customers continue to have successful RCM efforts, it has everything to do with facilitator certification!

Successful RCM Facilitators are certified, and certification only comes through Reliability Solutions, Inc.

The Truth About RCM Software

People involved in maintenance tend to be gadget people. We like new things, cell phones, i-Pods, and computers. We also like to play with new software often believing that some new maintenance software package somehow make the leap of actually performing the work instead of just storing and sorting data about it.

People just getting started in RCM can have the same beliefs about a given RCM software package. The sign up for a demo, page through all the functionality and become mesmerized by the reports. Another package sold another believer that the software will somehow perform the RCM analyses and implement the tasks. Another person who is about to learn a lesson in reality.

Reliability Solutions, Inc. is the only company in the world certified to offer RCM Facilitator Training using the RCM Blitz methodology. This proven methodology is focused on getting companies a return on their RCM investment and this is delivered by instructing the realities of RCM. RCM takes leadership, structure and discipline. This combined with dedicated people and a simple database designed to store, sort and organize your data, you now have the makings of a world class RCM effort.

While software can be a great tool, the fact still remains RCM requires people to perform the analyses and implement the task. If you’re counting on the software to make it work, open your closet and put that box on the shelf next to the others you purchased and expect similar results.

At Reliability Solutions we know a lot about RCM and we know even more about building successful RCM efforts. While some companies boast about expensive and fancy software, we boast about the success RCM Blitz delivers our clients!

RCM 2007

Getting the word out to companies around the world on the benefits of RCM Blitz is challenge we face each year. As a small company we often have to rely on trade magazines and the World Wide Web to help attract people to our RCM Facilitator Training events. Our best forum for communicating the benefits of RCM comes each year at the Reliability Centered Maintenance managers forum scheduled and planned each year by Terrance O’Hanlon and the good people at ReliabilityWeb.com.

Once again the fine people from ReliabilityWeb.com have worked hard to plan and schedule the world-wide RCM conference, this year known as RCM2007. The conference will be held this year at the Sheraton Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii April 3-6.

This year I have the pleasure of presenting twice at the conference; first at a RCM/RCA workshop with Mark Galley of ThinkReliability and second an outstanding paper on RCM Facilitator Certification best practices with three of Cargill's world-wide reliability leaders.

Hoping to see and meet several of you at this years RCM conference!
